about me
I played violin professionally for 16 years. Performing in an orchestra teaches you to listen closely and respond to what people need. It's a deeply collaborative, service-oriented world. You also learn to read complex patterns fast: a full orchestral score is a lot of information at once, and you have to make sense of it in real time. And beyond the performance itself, music demands something less visible: deep focus, discipline, long hours of consistent work, and a constant drive to grow and get things right. Those values, being supportive, delivering high-quality work, staying responsible, and caring about results, are ones I carried with me long before I knew they would apply to design too.
That pull toward understanding how things work led me to frontend development, where I built websites using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Webflow, and Framer. The more I worked on the technical side, the more I noticed I cared just as much about how something felt to use as how it was built. That curiosity led me to a design position at a marketing agency in San Antonio, TX, where I worked with clients on custom designs, presentations, proposals, and also built their sites on WordPress and Webflow. That's where I got my first real taste of solving design problems for specific people with specific goals.
Today, UX design is where all of that comes together for me. I get to listen to what people actually need, make sense of the patterns, and build something that truly works, with enough technical background to follow it all the way through. I also care deeply about UI and believe good UI should serve the UX, with both being high-quality. I have a strong foundation in Design Systems and I'm comfortable working in-house, at a design agency, or anywhere in between. I care about doing high-quality work, and I'm looking for a team that does too.
